Red color – beets
Beets have a deep red color which can give your hair a nice red shade. All you need to do is mix a bit of fresh beet juice with some coconut oil – just apply the mixture on your hair, leave it to work for an hour, then rinse your hair and apply a high-quality conditioner. This will make your hair red and pretty attractive. Watch the video below for more information on the process:
If you don’t have coconut oil in your home, you can use beets alone to dye your hair red. Cut a few beets on small pieces and boil them in water for 20 minutes, then apply the warm mixture on your hair and leave it to work for 20 minutes. Rinse with apple cider vinegar in the end to fix the color and once more with warm water in the end. Repeat the process a couple of times a week and your hair will get a nice red tinge.
Yellow color– chamomile
You probably didn’t know that chamomile tea can give your hair a nice yellowish color. Just add 100 gr. of dry chamomile in ½ a liter of water, then strain the mixture afterwards and rinse with vinegar in the end.
Another way to color your hair yellow is with a mixture of chamomile and lemon juice. Here’s what you need to do:
Ingredients
- Lemon juice (from ½ a lemon)
- 8 tablespoons of dry chamomile flowers
- 300 ml. of water
Preparation
Boil the water in a pot, then pour it over the chamomile flowers and simmer the mixture for 15 minutes. Leave the tea to cool down before adding the lemon juice and applying it on your hair. Comb it through nicely and leave it to dry in the sun, then rinse with shampoo in the end. Your hair should get a nice yellowish tinge in the end – you can repeat the process until you get your favorite color.
Light brown hair – oak bark and onion peel
Slice up a bit of oak bark and boil it in water, then add ½ a cup of onion peels. Cook everything together for an hour, then leave the mixture to cool down and apply it on wet hair. Leave it to work for 45 minutes, then rinse with vinegar in the end in order to fix the color.
Brown hair – green walnut peels
If you want to dye your hair brown, green walnut peels are your best bet. Remove the peels of 15-20 green walnuts and cut them finely, then grind them and boil them in a pot of water. Leave the mixture to cool down before applying it on your hair with a brush. Leave it to work for 20 minutes, then rinse with vinegar in the end.
Gray hair – onion peels
Onion peels can give your hair a nice and trendy gray shade. Boil ½ a cup of onion peels in water for about 20 minutes, then strain the mixture through a gauze. Add 2 tablespoons of glycerol in the liquid next, then apply the dye on your hair. Comb it through from the root to the ends, then wash your hair as usual and leave it to dry on its own.
